Monday, March 14, 2011 Daily

Hooray for high viz clothing! On yesterday’s run I had three cars that looked like they were going to run a stop sign stop suddenly after they saw me. Good thing I was watching them and stopped until their intentions were clear.

Got my 9 miles in yesterday which made 30 miles for the week. That’s only the second time ever I’ve cracked 30 miles for the week. I have less tiredness in my muscles than I did last Monday so I think my fitness is improving. I’ll stick with 30 mpw for at least another couple of weeks to take full advantage of fitness improvements.

Today is a rest day. The plan for tonight is some light stretching and planks. Nothing serious. I want to make sure to get to bed early to get some good rest. This time change thing really messes me up for a good week or so.

Today’s menu was Quaker old fashioned rolled oats with peanut butter, banana, cinnamon and brown sugar for breakfast; ½-can of Campbell’s Select Split Pea and Ham soup, an orange, and a handful of almonds for lunch. Dinner is still TBD. Whatever it is, I’m sure it will be awesome. My snack this afternoon is some dry Banana Nut Cheerios.

What do you all have going on today?  Have you adjusted to the time change?

Congrats on the 9 miles! 30 mpw is great - I hope to get there some day! :)

I am doing a running group tonight for the Soldier Field 10 mile (May 28). I have never done a running group before so this will be a new experience!

Enjoy the rest day!

Glad you found me on here!! Great job on the 9 miles! You rock! I am definitely struggling with the time change a bit, but I had a very busy weekend so that didn't help. I work until about 7 or 7:30 tonight running a group for my students and then I am headed to the gym for a few easy miles!
