Midweek XT

The knees were being tweaky and my quads were feeling kind of tight, so I turned today into an XT day.  Back to running tomorrow.  I ended up spending 30 minutes on the elliptical at the Y and then walked 1/4 mile on the indoor track to cool down.  A pretty low impact, low stress workout.  It was just what I needed.  Now I'm thinking every Wednesday should be an XT day.

Dinner tonight was a salad of spinach, mixed lettuces, red bell pepper, and tuna topped with black bean and corn salsa.  Yummy.  Salad topped with salsa is one of my favorite things when I need something quick to just throw together.  It's also a great way to use up leftover roast chicken.

My birthday is this weekend and we're going to go out for dinner somewhere on Saturday evening.  It's my job to decide where. Hmmm...  Almost wherever I decide will require me to be very careful on Friday and Saturday with my calories.  I'll also have to be mindful of the fact that I will be running 10 miles on Sunday.  Such a tough decision.

What's your workout routine look like?

I think mine will look like this:  Mon - rest; Tues - run; Wed - XT; Thur - run; Fri - run; Sat - rest/XT; Sun - run.  My Saturday XT tends to be things like geocaching, hiking or biking.  Wednesday will be at the gym.  IN about 2 weeks I'm going to work in a 5th running day and I think that will go on Saturday morning.

M - run, Tu - run, W - XT, Th - Run, F - SRD, S - LSD, Su - (easy)run.

Wed is supposed to be XT, depends on how I'm feeling if it turns into a SRD. Su, I will usually also do some yoga.

Looks good Jen. I need to incorporate more yoga-like stuff into my rest/xt days. I've never been very flexible and I need to work on improving that as much as I can.
